The Mobile App team has been hard at work redesigning the thread page experience, and we’re thrilled to introduce new features that make reading and responding to threads easier than ever. Read through the end for information on how to toggle the beta release on-and-off and get a peek at what’s coming next. Easily reply, quote, and react

Replying on the mobile app hasn’t always been reliable, but that changes with this release. All you need to do is tap the reply icon to pull up the reply box. Quoting is just as simple—highlight a snippet of text, tap “Quote,” and it’ll be added to your reply. Plus, all your favorite reactions will continue to be supported but even easier to use.

Read without interruptions

Pagination works well on the web, but infinite scroll provides a more cohesive and readable experience for the app. To jump to the newest replies in a thread, tap “Jump to latest,” and if you need to revisit the first post, simply tap the pinned thread title. We’ve also switched to a flat reply layout, which many users find cleaner and easier to navigate.

Seamlessly interact with images and videos

Our communities are full of amazing user-uploaded photos and videos. With this update, you’ll gain compact and intuitive multimedia displays. On attachment galleries, tap on images to expand them to full-screen, and pinch to zoom for the finer details.

Switch back to the previous experience

We couldn’t bring over every existing thread feature just yet, so some thread pages might not feel quite complete. If you run into any issues, you can easily switch back to the previous thread experience by tapping the “Beta” toggle at the top of any thread.

While this is just the start, we’re actively working to improve, with updates like member metadata previews, support for polls and marketplace threads, admod functionality, advanced pagination, and multi-quote in the pipeline. To get there, we need your help—your feedback is critical in shaping this experience. We want to hear what’s working, what’s not, and how we can make it better for you.

• Blissfully ad-free: While we can’t promise that threads will remain ad-free, we’re excited to launch the beta without any ads.
• Faster loading and interaction times: Threads and key actions now load quicker than ever.
• Responsive text sizing: Adjust font sizes using your device’s settings.
